Pune Model United Nations is a registered initiative under the Bombay Shop and Establishment Act, 1948. It is in the process of registration as a not-for-profit organization.
Pune Model UN conference would see a potential representative contribution of close to 500 delegates and would categorically be simulating 14 bodies of and affiliated to the United Nations. These include the main committees of the UN, the major councils, subsidiary organs, functional commissions, specialized agencies and affiliate organizations which were created under the aegis and by the effort of the General Assembly of the UN.
In simulation of these organs of the UN, it is believed that the students will have a better understanding of the diplomatic process and will start to gather interest in world affairs. Pune Model UN aspires to provide this gateway to the youth who may well consider and realize their future as contributors to global politics, diplomacy and international civil service.
